- Vivaldi’s Op. 10 set of six flute concertos was published in Amsterdam in 1729 by Michel-Charles Le Cène.1
- This set is the earliest known printed collection of concertos for transverse flute (not recorder). 2
- Vivaldi wasn’t thrilled with how well these concertos sold. In 1733, he decided not to publish concertos any more, because he could make a great deal more money selling manuscripts to wealthy private individuals instead of working with publishers.3
- The first three concertos in this collection came with fanciful programmatic subtitles in the first edition.
