- Originally for clarinet and piano, this piece was published in 1997.1
“A boisterous, temperamental showpiece, imbued with the tempestous rhythms and melodic motifs of the Hutsuls, who live in the Ukrainian Carpathians”
Publisher’s program note
- Skoryk’s music is heavily influenced by Carpatho-Ukrainian folk music. His Grove article, by Virko Baley, points out that this was unusual among Skoryk’s contemporaries in the Ukrainian musical world, most of whom maintained an avant-garde style.2
