  • Written in 1923, Schulhoff’s suite of Five Pieces for String Quartet was dedicated to Darius Milhaud and contains the following movement subtitles, each recalling a different dance style:
    1. Alla Valse viennese
    2. Alla Serenata
    3. Alla Czeca (Czech folk music)
    4. Alla Tango milonga
    5. Alla Taranetella1
