- The waltz became so popular internationally that it has been misattributed to Johann Strauss.1
- This is not actually “The Anniversary Waltz.” That’s a Bing Crosby single from 1941 by Dave Franklin and Al Dubin. The Bing Crosby song is sometimes confused with the waltz “Waves of the Danube” by Romanian Composer Iosif Ivanovici, to which someone added anniverary-related words in 1946. “Waves of the Danube” has often been mixed up with this waltz, “Over the Waves.” None of these pieces sound the same.
