Six Concert en Sextuor (Suites for a mixed consort of instruments)

Composer: RAMEAU, Jean-Philippe
  • These concert are orchestral arrangements of keyboard suites from Rameau’s Pieces de Clavecin en Concerts (1741).1
  • These arrangements come from a collection published by Jacques-Joseph-Marie Decroix (1746-1826).2
    • Decroix was a lawyer and an admirer of Rameau who collected Rameau manuscripts and made the first published collection of Rameau’s works. It is likely that Decroix created these orchestral transcriptions. The score is labeled, “Decroix 1768.”3
