String Quartet No. 1 in G Major

Composer: PRICE, Florence
  • Price probably composed this string quartet in 1929.1 (Dating her works can be difficult due to lack of records.)
  • Price’s other works in this genre include her String Quartet No. 2 in a minor (1935) and her Five Folksongs in Counterpoint.2
  • This work includes two movements. Though the typical classical string quartet contains four movements, we don’t actually have proof that this quartet is unfinished, or that Price planned to include more movements.3
