Quintet for Piano and Strings

• The surviving manuscript of this piece does not identify its date. Price did write a Piano Quintet in E minor in 1936, which premiered in a performance by Marion Hall and the Forum String Quartet in Chicago on June 15, 1937.¹ However, Paul Laraia, violist of the Catalyst Quartet (who made the premiere recording of this work), argues that this piece is stylistically inconsistent with Price’s 1930s compositional style.²
