- Various sources give conflicting dates for this piece (probably because primary sources on minority composers remain difficult to access). According to Oxford Music Online (the most recently updated scholarly source I could access), Perkinson composed it in 1956.1
- According to Perkinson’s publisher Keiser Souther Music, it was first published in 1976.2
- Perkinson composed this work shortly after completing his degree at the Manhattan School of Music (1954), and around the time he took up a professional conducting position with the Dessoff Choirs (1956).3
