  • This is a work for unaccompanied violin1 which Perkinson wrote in 1972.2
  • Perkinson dedicated this piece to Sanford Allen, who played its premiere at Carnegie Hall in 1972.3
  • This work combines a Blues-inflected harmonic language with classical sonata form.4
