- Mouret worked in court and opera positions throughout his life. For 20 years he was the composer-director of Comédie-Italienne in Paris.
- Mouret was a director of esteemed concert Paris concert series Concert Spirituel, 1 in which instrumental and sacred music was performed during Lent when theatres were closed.2
