- Morel Campos was a composer, organist, pianist, and conductor who studied with Puerto Rican composer Manuel Gregorio Tavárez.
- Morel Campos was best known as a composer and conductor of the Puerto Rican social dance genre danza. He also composed and directed zarzuelas (Spanish/Latin American operettas): he toured South America as director of the Compañia de Zarzuela Española Bernard y Arabella.1
