In the Mountain Country

Composer: MOERAN, Ernest John
  • In the Mountain Country is an “orchestral impression” which was first performed in 1921.1
  • Moeran composed this piece while still a student at the Royal College of Music.2
  • This is one of Moeran’s few surviving early works. Harshly self-critical, he destroyed many compositions that he felt weren’t good enough.3
