MALVEZZI, Cristofano

  • Cristofano Malvezzi [“kree-STOH-fah-no mal-VET-si”] was an organist and composer best known for his work in the service of the Medici court during the late Renaissance, beginning in 1562.
  • Malvezzi also served as maestro di cappella at the cathedral in Florence from 1573 on. He would have been well-known among professional musicians at the time.
