Born in Detroit, MI, Aug 27, 1952
- Thomas Ludwig began studying the violin at age four and later studied under Mischa Mischakoff. Ludwig earned a full scholarship to Juilliard to study with Ivan Galamian.
- As he entered adulthood as a professional musician, Ludwig chose a dual career as both conductor and composer.
- As a conductor, Ludwig has served as the music director and principal conductor of the New York City Symphony and as the resident conductor for Mikhail Baryshnikov and American Ballet Theatre at the Metropolitan Opera House.
- As a composer, Ludwig has written symphonies, concertos, and many other orchestral and chamber works.1
