- Franz Liszt admired Litolff’s concertos symphoniques (fancy name for piano concertos) so much that he dedicated his own first piano concerto to Litolff.
- The Scherzo from Litolff’s 4th Concerto symphonique (op.102, composed c.1852) is the work for which Litolff is best remembered.
- Fun fact: according to his Grove’s article, Litolff was “probably…the first to use the triangle and the piccolo in the keyboard concerto.” 1
