  • Liszt dedicated this work to Hungarian writer and politician László Teleky
  • Liszt arranged this work for orchestra in collaboration with Franz Doppler. Their orchestration was originally published in the key of d minor, and labeled as the fourth of Liszt’s orchestral Hungarian rhapsodies. Today it is usually labeled No. 2, whether one is referring to the piano version or orchestra version.1
