Abendsterne (Evening Stars) Waltz, Op. 180

Composer: LANNER, Joseph
  • Abendsterne was written in 1841 and premiered that same year at a Viennese garden concert called “A Summer Night’s Dream.”
  • Despite being overshadowed by the colossal Strauss family today, Lanner played a significant role in the rise of the international popularity of the Viennese Waltz and was one of the genre’s most important contributors.1
