- Abendsterne was written in 1841 and premiered that same year at a Viennese garden concert called “A Summer Night’s Dream.”
- Despite being overshadowed by the colossal Strauss family today, Lanner played a significant role in the rise of the international popularity of the Viennese Waltz and was one of the genre’s most important contributors.1
