- “The Lord is my Light” is an anthem for soprano, tenor, chorus, and Baroque orchestra written between 1717–18.
- During this time period, Handel was living in England and wrote eleven of these “Chandos Anthems.” They are essentially Anglican cantatas with instrumental accompaniment.
- No. 10, “The Lord is my Light,” is the longest of the set with eleven movements.
- The text for this anthem includes passages from Psalms 18, 20, 27–30 and 45.1
