- Morgenstemning (Morning Mood) is the introduction to Act 4 of Grieg’s incidental music (1874-75)1 to Henrik Ibsen’s play Peer Gynt (1867).2
- Fun fact: this music is not a depiction of Grieg’s Norwegian homeland. This scene in Peer Gynt takes place in the desert of Morocco.3
