  • Glazunov composed his suite Scènces de ballet, Op.52, in 1894.1
  • Glazunov dedicated this suite to the orchestra musicians of the Russian Opera of St. Petersburg (“à Messieurs les Artistes de l’Orchestre de l’Opéra Russe à St Pétersbourg”)2
  • Glazunov conducted the first performance in 1895 in a concert by the Imperial Music Society.3
  • Listen for: a solo violin introduces the theme in the trio (middle section).4
