  • String Quartet No. 1, “Neo-Soul” was commissioned by All Classical Radio in 2020. The piece was the precursor for the Recording Inclusivity Initiative and was driven by the need to build a more diverse and inclusive soundscape in America.
  • The quartet is an ode to the genre of music that became popular in the 1990s and put a new spin on the classic soul sound.
  • Through its three movements, Neo-Soul revolves around creating a specific vibe:
    1. “Bop”
    2. “Feelin’ Some Type of Way”
    3. “Please Don’t Kill My Vibe”
