Overture No. 1, Op. 23

Composer: FARRENC, Louise
  • Farrenc composed two concert overtures in 1834: this one, and her second, in E-flat Major, Op. 24. Both remained unpublished during her lifetime. These were Farrenc’s first orchestral works.1
  • Farrenc’s first concert overture premiered in 1835 in Paris in a performance by the Société des concerts du Conservatoire.2
