May Song

Composer: ELGAR, Sir Edward
  • Elgar composed May Song in 1901. He also made versions of this piece for violin and piano, and for piano solo.1
  • Elgar conducted the piece’s premiere at the Public Hall in Worcester on May 10, 1902.2
  • This piece was composed two years after Elgar first achieved international fame with the Enigma Variations in 1899.3
