- Scored for piano, violin, and cello, Chopin wrote his Piano Trio in g minor between 1828-29. The piece consists of four movements:
- Allegro con fuoco
- Scherzo
- Adagio sostenuto
- Finale
- Chopin wrote the piece for Antoni Henryk Radziwill, a Polish prince and musician who was a patron of the arts.
- The piece was generally well-received; however, stylistically, it differs quite a bit from the “sound” that Chopin would become best known for.
- Fun fact – this early work is the only one of Chopin’s pieces to feature the violin.1
