Scenes from Dinétah

• Scenes from Dinétah is a set of twelve piano compositions that Connor Chee released in 2020 from his eponymous album. 

“Chee’s most recent release, Scenes from Dinétah, features piano pieces written about elements of Navajo life and culture. It has been accompanied by the release of several music videos filmed on the reservation, directed by Navajo filmmaker Michael Etcitty Jr.”

• Dinétah is the traditional name of the homeland of the Navajo people. 
• In Connor Chee’s album Scenes from Dinétah, each composition is prefaced by a spoken passage in the Navajo language. You can read these passages, and the album’s program notes, here.¹
