- This work is a transcription by Fritz Kreisler of Chaminade’s art song Chanson espagnole. Kreisler’s transcription was scored for violin and piano, and was published in New York in 1915.1
- The original song was published in 1895, and dedicated to French operatic soprano Emma Calvé. It was one of Chaminade’s most popular art songs during her lifetime.2
- Chaminade herself released an arrangement of the song for piano solo in 1926.
