- Fileuse. This word indicates a female spinner; as in, a woman at a spinning wheel. This etude is dedicated to Louis Livon, who was a professor of piano at the Marseille Conservatoire.4
- Appassionato. This etude is dedicated to Caroline Montigny-Rémaury.
- Impromptu. This etude is dedicated to Marguerite Lamoureux. She was the daughter of conductor Charles Lamoureux and wife of composer Camille Chevillard.
- Tarentelle. This etude is dedicated to Marie Jaëll.
