[PRONUNCIATION | BROH-skee]
- Riccardo Broschi was primarily an opera composer who influenced figures like G. F. Handel. His best-known works are arias written for his brother, Farinelli, whom he may also have helped train when the singer was young.
- Broschi studied at the Conservatorio di S. Maria di Loreto in Naples starting around 1711.
- Broschi most consistently wrote opera seria, though there is evidence of oratorio and comic opera.1
