  • Written in 1898, Suite en forme de valses (Suite in the Form of Waltzes) is a cycle of waltzes initially written for orchestra and then arranged for piano and piano four hands.
  • The original orchestral publication comprised three movements:
    1. Ballabile
    2. Interlude et Valse lente
    3. Scherzo-Waltz
  • A “ballabile” is a dance performed by a corps de ballet without the principal dancers.1
