Femmes de légende is the title assigned by German publisher Furore to their first volume of Mel Bonis’s complete piano works. The volume was published in 2003, and it collects seven pieces which Bonis wrote during the first two decades of the twentieth century. Though Bonis never gathered the pieces as a cycle, their common theme is that each is named after a “legendary” woman.
