BATES, Mason

  • Mason Bates is a composer, DJ (under the name DJ Masonic), and curator best known for his GRAMMY-winning opera, The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs.
    • His work in electro-acoustic music and multimedia projects showcases his drive to modernize classical music and integrate contemporary culture.
  • Fun fact – Bates was the first composer-in-residence appointed by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
  • Since 2014, he has served on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
