  • Form: French overture (Baroque form beginning with regal dotted rhythms followed by fugal passage).
  • Comus by John Milton (1608-1674) is an allegory about temptation. A Lady lost in a forest is kidnapped and enchanted by a tempter named Comus; the Lady’s brothers must rescue her and break the spell. 1
