Navarra

Composer: ALBÉNIZ, Isaac
  • Originally for piano, this work was intended as part of the suite Iberia, which depicts impressions of regions in Spain.1
  • Navarra was incomplete at Albéniz’s death. It was completed in 1912 by Albéniz’s student Déodat de Séverac.2
  • Navarra was orchestrated by Albéniz’s friend, violinist Enrique Fernández Arbós, who had also orchestrated Iberia at Albeniz’s request.3

Shamelessly cheap

Albeniz’s opinion of his own work, Navarra. That’s why he never completed it. 4
