6 Tango Etudes

Composer: PIAZZOLLA, Astor
  • Piazzolla’s 6 Tango Etudes were initially published in 1987 for solo flute but have since been arranged for many alternative instruments and ensembles.
  • These etudes demonstrate the undeniable influence of classical music on the composer, perhaps even calling to mind Bach’s Partitas while still evoking Piazzolla’s mastery of tango.1
  • Titles of each etude:
    1. Décidé
    2. Anxieux et rubato
    3. Molto marcato e energico
    4. Lento – Meditativo
    5. (none)
    6. Avec anxiété
