- O choruscans lux stellarum (O glistening light of the stars) is a votive antiphon (that is, a freely composed Latin hymn added to the end of a service) intended for the dedication of a church.1
- Hildegard’s text is a poetic commentary on Psalm 44 in the Vulgate Bible, which depicts a royal bride, who is often used as an image for the church.2
