Suffolk Suite

• Carwithen composed this suite in 1964 for the students of Framlington College, a boys’ school in Sussex. The school’s music master had asked Carwithen for a piece for the students to play at the royal opening of their new school concert hall.¹
• Carwithen’s Suffolk Suite uses themes from her 1954 score to the short travelogue film, East Anglian Holiday.² This suite is one of several concert pieces in which Carwithen made use of themes from her film scores.³
