- Carel Anton Fodor was a well-known pianist, conductor, and composer in the Netherlands.
- He studied in Paris in his teens along with his older brother, Carolus Emanuel. Upon returning to Amsterdam in 1790, Fodor made a name for himself as a virtuoso pianist.
- As a conductor, Fodor led several Dutch orchestras. In 1808, he was appointed as head of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
- As a conductor, Fodor wrote three symphonies as well as several piano concertos and other chamber music works. He may have also written an opera, though the score has been lost.1
