- Piano Sonata No. 16 in C Major, one of Mozart’s most recognizable piano tunes, was composed in 1788 and consists of three movements:
- Allegro
- Andante
- Rondo. Allegretto1
- Mozart referred to the sonata as “Sonate facile,” and wrote of it as “a little piano sonata for beginners.”
- Fun fact – Unlike most of his other piano sonatas, Mozart did not ascribe any dynamic markings in the score for Piano Sonata No. 16 in C Major, perhaps leaving it to the student’s instructor to assign.2
