- One of his earliest published works, Vaughan Williams wrote Bucolic Suite for orchestra in 1900. The suite consists of four movements:
- Allegro
- Andante
- Intermezzo
- Finale1
- Bucolic Suite predates the composer’s well-known search for and exploration of English folk songs, but the piece still offers an exciting early look at where the Vaughan Williams’ musical interests would eventually take him.
