- Kuhlau’s Piano Concerto in C Major was written in 1810 and consists of three movements in a traditional fast-slow-fast structure:
- Allegro
- Adagio
- Rondo. Allegro
- Kuhlau dedicated his piano concerto to Danish composer Christoph Ernst Friedrich Weyse (1774-1842).1
- Beethoven was a major source of inspiration for much of Kuhlau’s music, so it’s not surprising that Kuhlau’s work was written in the same key as Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 15.
