La Ronde des Lutins (The Dance of the Goblins), Op. 25

Composer: BAZZINI, Antonio
  • La Ronde des Lutins (The Dance of the Goblins), also known as Scherzo fantastique, is a short virtuosic piece for violin and piano first published in 1853.1
  • As Bazzini’s best-known composition, The Dance of the Goblins exemplifies the composer’s exceptional skill on the violin – he would often write “show” pieces for himself to play in concert.
    • Fun fact – Bazzini was both inspired and encouraged by fellow violin virtuoso Paganini to pursue a career performing.2
