  • This work is an art song for voice and piano which Fauré composed in 1877, with a text by Romain Bussine.1
    • Bussine was a voice professor at the Paris Conservatoire, a friend and colleague of Fauré.2 Bussine’s text is his translation of an anonymous Tuscan poem “Levati sol che la luna è levata.”3
